Wedding Invitation

Finally, the invitation post is here! I finished them and got them in the mail a couple of weeks ago. It's fun getting the responses back, we seem to get about 1 a day so far.  These invitations were mostly assembled in the hospital.  My future father in law had quite the scare so the week that I needed to get these out we spent a lot of time at the hospital.  Everyone got a kick out of the fact that I was carrying everything back and forth but sometimes you have to do what you have to do!  Plus it gave me something to do while we sat there and talked.  Luckily he's doing much better now and was home after a week.

This first picture is a summary page that has all of the pictures. I created it in Storybook Creator.

I ordered the pink envelopes and green pocket folds from Cards & Pockets as well as the pink paper to mount the invitation.

The stamps are from Zazzle and I used pictures from Kosi Designs.  The stamp on the outer envelope said You're Invited.

The paper for the envelope liner is from Paper Source.  The search for that paper took quite some time!  I was looking for paper, wrapping paper, anything pink and green and finally found something just right!

I picked up the yarn that I wrapped the envelope in to tie around the votive holders at the tables.  I will have to go get more because it turned out to be perfect for the invitations too!  I punched holes in the pink square and tied the yarn through the holes.  I ran the white logo and green square through the Xyron and stuck them on the pink square to cover up the knot in the yarn.

I created each section in Storybook Creator, I know big surprise!  A little detail that I'm proud to point out is that as all 4 pages in the pocket line up the design flows down them as it's one solid image.

The accommodation and directions page.

The reception and RSVP page.

The RSVP envelope, another stamp from Zazzle with a picture from Kosi Designs.  This stamp said RSVP.

  1. Your invitations are beautiful!! They are so artistic and the colors are gorgeous! You are so talented!!

  2. I love your invites. We are using cards and pockets too and was wondering how you got your inserts/invites printed? Did you do it through them? I love the eyelash yarn!!

  3. Thank you for the compliments!

I designed them in Creative Memories Storybook Creator and then printed them on my home inkjet printer.

Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

To view items from this party or request an item visit my Welcoming Sentiments Etsy shop.

Another year has come and gone and JP is now 2.  Everyone told me it would go fast and I've noticed all along but it doesn't help slow it down at all!  That's why I love that I can be home with him so I can soak up all of these fun moments.

We have started to watch a little TV.  Sometimes I just need to get dinner cooked or something done and need his attention elsewhere.  It's life, and we shouldn't feel guilty about doing it a little.  I say that but still have that 'mom guilt' that I'm not paying attention to him.  Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is one of his favorites.  Mickey Mouse was his first unprompted 2 word phrase and Mickey Mouse House was his first unprompted 3 word phrase.  That only meant that we needed a Mickey Mouse birthday party.  This year I did do most everything for the party myself so I was happy about that.  We kept it small this year and once aga…

Growing my Etsy shop

I will slowly be adding items to my shop and will likely focus on downloadable printables.  I love crafting and hand making items for parties and things like that but I want time for that to be my own hobby and not having the only time I do it to be for 'work'.

JP has started pre-school already, I can't believe it!  It gives me a little time each day to get something done in peace.  It's just like when he used to nap but I don't have to stay home!  That may sound like I'm thrilled he's in school and part of me is.  He is so excited each day to go and comes out with a big smile saying he had fun at school today.  That makes me happy.  The first day was not good for me.  I held it together until I got back in the truck but then I cried.  Luckily I had scheduled a meeting that first day to keep my mind off of it so time passed and we were all good.  Now that I know he's happy I can be a little more excited to have some time back ;)

I've had requests f…

Monkey 1st Birthday

This post is very late but as my multitasking mind takes over I am now on my 3rd different thing that I'm doing on the computer besides what I sat down to do.

When planning his birthday party and theme I went with a general monkey theme.  We don't watch a lot of TV and really it's hard to tell what a 1 year old in really 'into'.  My cousin Beth with Beth Kruse Custom Creations designed my party printables.  I normally do this kind of thing on my own but there were just too many things going on in our lives at the time for me to add 1 more thing to my plate.  She has fabulous parties so I knew I was outsourcing to someone great!

I scoured Pinterest for food inspiration and was pretty pleased with what I found.

Banana Split Popcorn I thought this popcorn was really good.  I have a sweet tooth so it was a great treat!
