Stitch Fix

It's been over a year since my last 'Fix' and I decided to give it another try.  Ever since JP was born I haven't really bought many clothes for myself.  Some of my old clothes still fit and some don't but a big problem is that I have completely different needs.  Now that I am an at home mommy all of my cute business casual outfits don't get much use (at all!!) and it turns out I didn't have much for everyday casual.

I really don't enjoy shopping.  I think it is partially because I have a hard time finding things that will fit right, I am not a large person but on the taller side and typically smaller sizes just aren't long enough.  I'll take 10 things into a fitting room and maybe 1 will fit right.  It's frustrating.

I really love shopping online because it give me time to do things I want to do instead of need to do.  I've eluded in previous posts about the products we use in our home and I get them from an online wellness .com store so again...more things delivered to my door, I love it (and it saves money!).

On to my fix.  Allison was my stylist and for the most part this Fix was great.  I requested color and everyday casual things that still made me look 'put together'.  I also mentioned my issue with finding tops long enough in the arms and torso and the things she sent had a longer style.

Beau Fringe Infinity Scarf

I don't have a scarf this color or texture so it's a keeper.

Aleah V-Neck Heathered Dolman Sleeve Shirt

In a previous Fix I got a black shirt just like this and I love it.  It has a different label but feels and looks the same.  It's long enough that I can wear it with leggings and have my back side covered.  Leggings are not pants!!  It's also easy to accessorize with jewelry or a scarf.  Another keeper!

Braddon Airy Knit V-Neck Sweater

If I were at a store I probably wouldn't have tried this on.  That's one of the things I like about Stitch Fix is it helps you expand your style.  I like it but the fit just wasn't right.  It was a little baggy and the sleeves were an odd length.  They were too short but not short enough to look like 3/4 sleeves.  It's a no for me.

Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater

This is another keeper.  This is my style, easy and casual but still cute (at least I think so!).  The fit is also good and long enough.  The only thing I'm not crazy about is the price.  It's a little expensive but I am still going to keep it.  Finding things that fit well isn't easy so when I find it sometimes I just have to roll with it.

Natoma Ikat Embroidery Crossbody Bag

This bag is just not my style.  I'm not trying to offend anyone because there are probably plenty of people who don't like the things I did above but this bag is a big NO for me.

If you didn't already know there is a Facebook group called Stitch Fix B/S/T and Discussion.  People post themselves in their new items and if there is something you got that you didn't like there are lots of people that will likely buy it that way you can keep everything and get your discount.  I've heard that even if you rate the items when you checkout with your honest opinion it still can be misleading for future picks because you kept the item.

If you are new to Stitch Fix and want to give it a try they have a great referral program.  Here is my referral link if you decide to give it a try!

Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

To view items from this party or request an item visit my Welcoming Sentiments Etsy shop.

Another year has come and gone and JP is now 2.  Everyone told me it would go fast and I've noticed all along but it doesn't help slow it down at all!  That's why I love that I can be home with him so I can soak up all of these fun moments.

We have started to watch a little TV.  Sometimes I just need to get dinner cooked or something done and need his attention elsewhere.  It's life, and we shouldn't feel guilty about doing it a little.  I say that but still have that 'mom guilt' that I'm not paying attention to him.  Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is one of his favorites.  Mickey Mouse was his first unprompted 2 word phrase and Mickey Mouse House was his first unprompted 3 word phrase.  That only meant that we needed a Mickey Mouse birthday party.  This year I did do most everything for the party myself so I was happy about that.  We kept it small this year and once aga…

Growing my Etsy shop

I will slowly be adding items to my shop and will likely focus on downloadable printables.  I love crafting and hand making items for parties and things like that but I want time for that to be my own hobby and not having the only time I do it to be for 'work'.

JP has started pre-school already, I can't believe it!  It gives me a little time each day to get something done in peace.  It's just like when he used to nap but I don't have to stay home!  That may sound like I'm thrilled he's in school and part of me is.  He is so excited each day to go and comes out with a big smile saying he had fun at school today.  That makes me happy.  The first day was not good for me.  I held it together until I got back in the truck but then I cried.  Luckily I had scheduled a meeting that first day to keep my mind off of it so time passed and we were all good.  Now that I know he's happy I can be a little more excited to have some time back ;)

I've had requests f…

Monkey 1st Birthday

This post is very late but as my multitasking mind takes over I am now on my 3rd different thing that I'm doing on the computer besides what I sat down to do.

When planning his birthday party and theme I went with a general monkey theme.  We don't watch a lot of TV and really it's hard to tell what a 1 year old in really 'into'.  My cousin Beth with Beth Kruse Custom Creations designed my party printables.  I normally do this kind of thing on my own but there were just too many things going on in our lives at the time for me to add 1 more thing to my plate.  She has fabulous parties so I knew I was outsourcing to someone great!
